a) Nominations are sought for election to the NW Regional Council to fill 4 vacancies caused by resignations. b) VRBC issued a Sports Club Funding Guide. c) Coach licensing procedures are to change with the introduction of a monitoring procedure. d) UKA seek nominations for awards to Officials and volunteers for 2007. e) Some minor changes have been made to insurance cover for athletics. - Treasurer’s Report £
Current A/C 1112.72 Business A/C 2237.22 Total 3349.94 Recently £700 was transferred to the Business A/C partly because of the influx of membership payments. - Activities
a) NYAL Salford on 3.6.07. A poor turn out of athletes. Salford was the host. Trafford on 24.6.07. About 10 athletes attended. Altrincham was the host. The next round is to be hosted by Leigh but it is understood that their track will not be available, but it is not yet known where it will take place. b) Cheshire T&F League Deeside on 10.6.07. this was a double header which ran for 6 hours attracting a huge number of athletes; a moderate number from our club. The next round will be at Crewe on 12.8.07. Crewe is the host but will need assistance (like most other clubs). c) NJAL The next meeting is at Litherland on 1.7.07 followed by the last round at West Cheshire on 29.7.07. d) Cheshire Track Relays at Macclesfield on 7.7.07 13 teams have been entered from our club. It is to be hoped that our athletes turn up on the day. The boys team manager is Phil Tomalin and girls team manager is Lynn Wright. On occasions our club fields a disproportionate number of Officials. - Training
On Tuesdays, at Castle Park, about 30 come along to both the U11 and over 11 sessions. On Thursdays a reasonable number now attend. It is understood that the lines have been painted on the track at Widnes, so it would appear to be ready. A meeting is soon to take place with Wade Deacon to find out when our club will be allowed to use it and the tariff etc. Tomorrow, 29.6.07, W Smith will attend a meeting of the Halton Sports Partnership, which should reveal progress on the track. - Any Other Business
a) One mother of an athlete who regularly attended at Widnes (Amy Crosby) had no notification of the suspension of activities there and was disgruntled because the membership fee had just been paid. If she returns, the club must recompense her in some way. b) It was suggested that some sort of reward should be made to athletes who support the club at meetings eg a certificate. Those who gain standards get some satisfaction. c) An up to date fixture list must be kept on the web site. d) Is it possible to get club track suits (for those who represent the club at meetings) e) It was suggested that the membership form should carry the qualification ‘ Acceptance of you membership is dependant on your willingness to compete for the club in various competitions each year. Failure to do so can lead to your membership being revoked.’ f) Once the Sportshall League fixture list is available, it was suggested that athletes be sent a copy and requested to attend 2 of the meetings. g) It was suggested that a Monday may be a more suitable committee meeting date. h) Once the Widnes track is available, the club will have to consider its centre of gravity is then in Halton. In a couple of year’s time a new county structure will come in. Merseyside will become a proper county with a council and Halton will be a part of that county. They will not be in Cheshire. The members of H&FH will then owe their allegiance to Merseyside and not Cheshire. Attached is a revised T&F fixture list for this Summer. BJ Warren 29.6.07 |
