On further consideration, it was decided not to proceed with the long jump cover because at our meeting with VRBC representatives recently, we were told that the long jump location will be moved. The cover makes use of concrete to secure the cover to the ground, which clearly cannot be moved. The claim regarding Park development should be submitted by end ’07 and work could begin by Oct ’08. It will be shared with the Tennis Club. It could be build in 2009. 5.Widnes Track The track should be handed over this week to the school. It has been inspected by Jim Green, an approved inspector, who asked for a number of changes. The track surface appears to be very well drained. 5. Treasurer’s Report £ Current A/C 1277.82 Business A/C 2237.22 Total 3515.04 Consideration was given to subscriptions and membership fees. The £1 sub. has been unchanged for about 18 years, however, the current finances are not in dire straits. The membership fee of £12 for competing athletes includes a £5 vest , and the club has paid an affiliation charge of £3 to EA per athlete (except U11s). In 2008 the charge will be £5 to EA. In 2008 it would appear that we will be obliged to charge competing athletes more (except U11s). Both matters must be kept under review. 6.Activites a) National Young Athletes League Because Leigh opted out of hosting the last match at a week’s notice, only 3 matches took place. b) The final meeting was at Stanney on 2.9.07.
