The Kingsway Leisure Centre, Widnes was the venue for the first round of the 2007-08 Northwest Sportshall League where the Harriers started their season on a high note, competing against clubs from the North West region.
In the under 11 girls competition, new member Tori Acton took the maximum A points very convincingly, with wins in the 2 lap and 4 lap races. She also won the 3rd A points in the long jump, 1.92m.
Jess Wright was the 3rd B place in the 2 lap, and 1st B in the 4 lap, and in the speed bounce had a 4th A with a score of 53. Kate Merrill took the 4th B with 45.
Katie Watson scored with a throw of 4.75m for the 5th A in the chest push, Kate Morgan scoring with 4.25m for the 5th B points, and also having another 5th B place in the vertical jump with 25cm, Jenny Pyatt taking the 5th A spot with 29cm
Emily Pearson had a best leap of 1.58m in the long jump to take the 5th B points.Jenny, Katie, Tori, and Jess were placed 4th in the relay, 1m.58.6s

Jack Allen began the scoring for the under 11 boys with a 26.7s 2nd place in the 2 lap A race, Andrew Cunniffe, 29.0s was the 3rd B, and in the 4 lap event, Jack was 2nd A with 61.0s, and brother Jake won the 1st B points with a time of  65.2s.
Jack and Jake were together in the long jump, Jack taking the 4th A points with 1.72m, and Jake's 1.65m winning the 2nd B points.
Andrew, 5th A, and Edward Goodwin, 1st B, contested the speed bounce, each scoring 41, Edward also taking 2nd A in the chest push with 5.50m, Thomas Jones was the 3rd B with 5.00m.
Andrew and Thomas Kelly combined for the triple jump, Andrew 's 5.00m good for the 2nd A points and Thomas had a best of 3.72m taking the 3rd B points. The foursome Thomas Jones, Andrew, Jake, and Jack were winners in the relay, 1m,56.8s.
NS results. 2 lap- Jake, 29.2s, Thomas Kelly, 30.0s, Thomas Jones, 29.1s, Edward, 29.4s.
Long jump- Thomas Jones, 1.64m, Thomas Kelly, 1.50m, and 36 in the speed bounce.
Amy Pearson and Emma Scott each had 5th places in the A and B 2lap races, 28.1s and 29.1s. In the 6 lap, Emma Pyatt had a time of 1m.41.5s, 5th A, and Katie Woodcock ran 1m. 48.2, 5th B.Long jumpers Amy Wright, and Emma Pyatt had bests of 2.07m, and 1.82m 4th A, and 5th B respectively.
Amy Wright then teamed with Emma Scott to take maximum double first in the speed bounce, Amy's 78 taking the A points, and Emma's 73 the B.In the shot putt, Amy Wright had a throw of 6.30m, 4th A, and Maisie Ford took the 4th B points with 5.35m.
Emilia Leiser had a best of 36 in the vertical jump, 5th A, and new member Lucy Andrew won the 5th B with 27. 
Amy Pearson, Masie, Emilia, and Emma Scott were 5th in the relay, 1m.57.2s.

Long jump- Emma Scott, 1.73m, Katie Woodcock, 1.62m.
Shot putt- Emilia, 5.00m, Katie Woocock, 4.43m.
Speed bounce- Amy Pearson, 72.
Relay- Emma Pyatt, Katie Woodcock, Lucy Andrew, and Amy Wright, 2m.04.7s
Ashley Pye got the under 13 boys off to a flying start with a win in the A 2 lap, 26.4s, and James Crosby was in 3rd B position, 27.5s.
Jamie Cunniffe and Richard McGeachie added to the score with a double 1st A and 1st B in the 6 lap, 1m. 39.2s, and 1m. 42.7s.
In the field events, the wins continued with 1st A performances for Ashley in the triple jump, 5.94m, speed bounce 71.
Jamie's 7.29m won the 1st A in the shot, Mark Deprose adding to the score with a 1st B scoring putt of 6.55m, adding to his 2nd A 2.00m leap in the long jump, James took the 1st B points with 1.96m.
Richard had two winning B results to add to his 6 lap win, in the triple jump he jumped 4.81m, and his 65 was the winning B effort in the speed bounce.
NS results  2 lap Mark, 26.9s, Jamie, 27.4s, Richard, 29.6s.  Speed bounce James, 62.
Mark, James, Jamie, and Ashley won the relay, 1m.50.0s.
Aoife Haymer, Ciera Hughes, Nicole Bell, and Charlotte Leiser were the four under 15 girls contestants, Aoife taking 3rd A in the 2 lap, 26.7s, and Nicole 2nd B 27.3s.  Charlotte's 1m.38.5s in the 6 lap took the 3rd A points. In the long jump, Aoife won the 3rd A with 2.12m, and Nicole's 2.00m good for the 2nd B points.  Aoife was in 1st A place with 88 in the speed bounce, and Nicole 3rd B with 67.A throw of 6.44m by Aoife took the 2nd A points in the shot putt, Charlotte's 5.50m won the 3rd B place.  Nicole was placed 4th A in the vertical jump with 43, and Ciera had a best of 31 for the 4th B points.
NS results  Long jump- Charlotte, 1.95m, and 62 in the speed bounce, Ciera, 1.62m, and 5.44m in the shot putt.
David Tomalin and Liam Renton represented the under 15 boys both having a good set of results.
David came 1st A in the 2lap, 25.9s, 2nd A in the 6 lap, 1m.33.5s, 1st A in the triple jump, 6.68m, and 2nd A in the speed bounce, 72.
Liam had 1st B in the 2 lap, 29.1, 1st B in the 6 lap, 1m.34.2s, 2nd A in the long jump, 1.92m, and completed the scoring with a 1st B in the speed bounce, 64.
