Robin Park, Wigan once again was the venue for the 3rd round of the North West Sportshall League where the Harriers consolidated their prospects of featuring in the finals in March 2008. The under 11 girls were well represented and began the scoring with two firsts in the 2 lap sprints, Jess Wright winning in 25.1s, and Tori Acton matching with another 25.1s. 2lap non scorers;- Katie Watson, 26.6s, Emily Pearson, 27.0s, Jenny Pyatt, 27.6s, Kate Merrill, 27.7s, Nikola Marsden, 28.2s, Emma Crosby, 28.6s, Katy Morgan, 28.9s, Jess Metcalfe, 29.1s, Ellie Hayes, 30.4s, Jessica Dexter, 30.7s. In the 4 lap races Jess had a time of 53.6s for the A points, and Tori's 57.5s took the B points. 4 lap non scorers :- Katie Watson, 58.6s, Kate Merrill, 59.2s, Jenny Pyatt, 59.8s, Emily Pearson, 60.0s .Long jump non scorers:- Katy Morgan, 1.53mtrs, Kate Merrill, 1.47mtrs, Nikola Marsden, 1.44mtrs. Jess had a 3rd A in the speed bounce, 52, and Tori won the long jump with 1.84mtrs, Emma Crosby winning the 4th B with 1.55mtrs.In the chest push, Ellie Hayes took the 2nd A with a best of 5.50 mtrs, and Emma won the 3rd B with 4.75mtrs. Emily Pearson won the vertical jump with a great effort of 39, Ellie's 26 good for the 5th B points. Jessica Dexter non scored with 25. Speed bounce non scorers:- Katie Watson, 44, Jess Metcalfe, 40. Chest push non scorers:- Nikola Marsden, 4.75mtrs, Katy Morgan, 4.25mtrs, Jess Metcalfe, 4.00mtrs, Jessica Dexter, 3.00mtrs. Katie Watson, Emily, Tori,and Jess stormed to a great first place win in the 4 x 2 lap relay, 1m.44.9s. Jack Allen was the first to score in the under 11 boys competition, taking the 2nd A points in the 2 lap, 25.1s, and Thomas Jones winning the B points with a 1st place, 25.3s. Jack also had a 1st A win in the 4 lap, 53.9s, and brother Jake ran 54.4s for a 3rd B win. 2 lap non scorers:- Andrew Cunniffe, 26.2s, Jake Allen, 26.2s, Daniel Steen, 26.6s, Adam Riley, 26.9s, Jack Peacock, 26.9s, George Metcalfe, 27.6s, Curtis Taylor, 28.2s, Joe Riley, 30.6s, Johnathan Jones, 31.1s. 4 lap non scorers:- Jack Peacock, 56.5s, Daniel Steen, 59.4s, Adam Riley, 61.0s, Joe Riley, 69.4s. George Metcalfe and Andrew Cunniffe were the featured two in the long jump, George taking the winning A points with 1.92mtrs, Andrew's 1.71mtrs taking the 3rd B points. Long jump non scorers:- Curtis Taylor, 1.49mtrs, Joe Riley, 1.19mtrs. Jack continued his winning ways with a great 1st A place in the triple jump, 5.42mtrs his best, and Andrew also had a good effort rewarded with a 2nd B, 5.30mtrs. Triple jump non scorers:- George Metcalfe, 4.98mtrs, Thomas Jones, 4.85mtrs. Jake with 45 and Adam Riley, 44, were the points winners in the speed bounce. Speed bounce non scorers:- Thomas Jones, 43, Jack Peacock, 34. Jack Peacock with 4.50mtrs, and Daniel Steen's 4.25mtrs were the points winners in the chest push. Chest push non scorers:- Joe Riley, 3.75mtrs, Curtis Taylor, 3.75mtrs. Jake, Andrew, Thomas,and Jack were the winning quartet in the relay, 1m.42.9s. Amy Pearson led the under 13 girls off with a 3rd A place in the 2 lap, 25.7s, Emma Scott taking the B points with a time of 26.5s. 2 lap non scores:- Amy Wright, 26.1s, Hannah Marsden, 26.4s, Emma Scott, 26.5s, Hannah Marsden had a 4th A place in the 6 lap, 1m.29.3s and Amy Wright also took a 4th place in the B event, 1m.32.3s. Hannah and Amy Wright also had 4th places in the shot put, Amy's 6.33mtrs taking the A points, and Hannah's 5.15mtrs the B. Shot put non scorers:- Emma Pyatt, 4.71mtrs, Katie Woodcock,4.55mtrs. Amy Pearson and Hannah were the points winners in the long jump, Amy with 1.93mtrs, and Hannah with 1.68mtrs. Long jump non scorers:- Emma Scott, 1.65mtrs, Emma Pyatt, 1.64mtrs. Emma Scott won the 3rd A in the speed bounce with 71, and Amy Wright the 3rd B with 68. Non scorers:- Amy Pearson, 68, Lucy Andrew, 59. The vertical jump were won by Katie Woodcock, 5A, 34, and Lucy Andrew, 4B 25. The two Amys, Hannah and Emma were 4th in the relay, 1m.44.8s. Once again the under 13 boys were in tremendous form, taking 1st places in every event, each being very convincing performances, Ashley Pye and Jamie Cunnliffe striking first with wins in the 2 lap races, Ashley 24.1s, Jamie, 25.0s. 2 lap non scorers:- Mark Deprose, 25.0s, James Crosby, 25.5s, Robert McGeachie, 25.8s, Richard McGeachie, 27.0s. In the 6 lap races brothers Robert and Richard McGeachie combined, winning times, Robert, 1m.24.9s, Richard, 1m.29.6s. James Crosby had a non scoring time of 1m.30.7s. James Crosby,1.90mtrs, and Mark Deprose, 1.84mtrs were the winning long jumpers, Long jump non scorers:- Jamie Cunnliffe, 1.78mtrs, Robert McGeachie, 1.68mtrs. Ashley, 6.05mtrs, and James, 5.38mtrs took the points in the triple jump, Richard non scored with 4.98mtrs. Ashley added his winning A tally with 78 in the speed bounce, Robert backing up with the winning B with 77. Richard had a non scoring effort of 64. Mark's 7.14mtrs took the A points in the shot put, Jamie's 6.40mtrs the winning B effort. Mark, Robert, Jamie, and Ashley carried the baton home to win the relay, 1m.40.1s, completing a very remarkable day for the boys. The under 15 girls were represented by Amelia Connor, Aoife Haymer, Ciera Hughes, and Nicole Bell, Amelia getting them on the score sheet with a 2nd A in the 2 lap, 23.9s, Nicole adding to the score with a 2nd B place, 24.8s. Aoife had a time of 1m.26.0s in the 6 lap taking the 4th A points, and adding a 1st B in the long jump, 2.12mtrs, Amelia having won the A points with 2.28mtrs. Nicole, 2.03mtrs, and Ciera, 1.68mtrs were a non scorers . In the vertical jump, Amelia's 52 took the 2nd A spot, Nicole very close with 51, won the 2nd B points. Aoife, 6.73mtrs and Amelia, 5.82mtrs were the shot put points winners, Nicole, 5.80mtrs and Ciera, 5.57mtrs were non scorers. Aoife had a 2nd A score with 82 in the speed bounce. In the relay the girls took the 4th place, 1m.40.7s. David Tomalin and Mike Fryer were the under 15 boys competitors, each opening their scoring with 3rd places in the 2 lap Mike just edging out David with a time of 23.4s against David's 23.9s.Mike had a2nd A place in the 6 lap, 1m.20.0s, David winning the B points with 1m.20.9. In the long jump Mike was again the A points winner with 2.30mtrs, David taking the 3rd B with 2.09mtrs. David's 73 won the speed bounce 2nd A, and Mike's 7.13mtrs in the shot put won the 3rd A points.
