The Harriers were in competition in the last round of matches of the North West Sportshall League which was staged at the Kingsway Leisure Centre, Widnes.

This results of the match would determine whether they would qualify for the League Finals to be held at the Robin Park Centre, Wigan in March.

The good news is that all the age groups, boys and girls will be there.This is thanks to the members who turned out for the four matches

The under 11 girls were off the mark with a win in the 2 lap sprint for Tori Acton, 27.3s, and Katie Watson's 29.6s took 3rd place. Tori also had a 2nd in the 4 lap, 62.8s, and Katie again was 3rd, 69.0s. Martha Cottrell had a non scoring win in the 2 lap with 28.7s.

Tori was partnered with Jenny Pyatt in the long jump, Tori with a best of 1.81m, 3rd A, and Jenny's 1.61m good for the 3rd B points.Kate Merrill had a non scoring best of 1,51m, Emma Crosby, 1.46m and Louisa Burrows had a best of 1.15m

Other 2 lap non scorers, Emily Pearson 29.4s, Jenny Pyatt 30.4s, Emma Crosby 31.7s, Ellie Hayes 33.9s, Alex Pye 35.0s, Lousa Burroes 39.1s. 4 lap non scorers, Kate Merrill 65.9s, Jenny Pyatt 66.5s, Katy Morgan 69.3s, Emma Crosby 74.3s.

Martha was 3rd A winner in the triple jump with 4.85m, Emily Pearson's 4.61m won the 3rd B place.Ellie Hayes and Katy Morgan had a close non scoring set of results, Ellie jumped 4.13m and Katy 4.12m.

Kate Merrill had a 3rd place in the speed bounce A competition with 53, Katie Watson had 48 for the 2nd B points. Emily Pearson, 46, and Alex Pye, 41 were non scoring results.

In the relay Katie, Emily, Martha, and Tori were placed 2nd, 1.58.2s

Jack Allen took the first points in the under 11 boys part of the match with a 2nd A in the 2 lap race, 27.4s, and Robbie Conduit was 3rd B, 29.3s. Ben Sutcliffe had a good non scoring win with 28.4s.Other non scorers were, Andrew Cunniffe 29.8s, Jack Peacock 28.9s, Jake Allen 28.9s, Adam Riley 30.2s, Matthew Garland 30.3s, Curtis Taylor 30.9s, Joe Riley 33.8s, Johnathan Ellams 33.9s. Two second places were the rewards for Jack Allen 60.8s,A points,and Jack Peacock 62.6s B points, in the 4 lap event. Adam Riley, 64.6s, Jake Allen, 64.7s and Tom Jones 64.1s were close in the non scoring competition. Johnathan Ellams time was 77.0s

Robbie and Ben were the points winners in the long jump, Robbie's 1.76m taking the 3rd A , and Ben's 1.72m the B points. Andrew Cunniffe, 1.66m, Matthew Garland, 1.63m, and Curtis Taylor, 1.58m were the non scorers in the event.

Jack Allen won the 3rd A points in the vertical jump, 39cm,and Joe Riley took the 4th B with 24cm.

In the chest push, Andrew was placed 2nd A, 5.50m, and Jack Peacock 3rd B, 4.50m. Johnathan Ellams and Curtis each had non scoring bests of 4.00m.

Robbie and Jack Allen each had a score of 46 in the speed bounce, good for the 2nd A and B points. Tom also had a 46, non scoring effort, and Adam's also non scored with 45.

Ben, Jake, Tom, and Jack Allen had a splendid win in the relay, 1.53.1s.

The under 13 girls part of the match started with two 4ths in the 2 lap, Amy Pearson taking the A points28.2s, and Emma Scott the B, 28.9s Maisie Ford also ran 28.9s in a non scoring race.

Maisie was in 3rd B spot in the 6 lap race, 1.45.9s, and Emma Pyatt 4th A, 1.45.7s

In the long jump, Amy Pearson won the 3rd A points, 1.94m, and Amy Wright took the 3rd B with 1.90m.

Amy Wright was in 4th A place in the triple jump, 5.95m, and Maisie in 4th B place with 5.24m

Katie Woodcock and Emma Pyatt were the shot put contestants, Katie taking the 3rd A points, 4.46m, and Emma's 4.15m taking the 3rd B points. Emma Scott had a great score of 75 in the speed bounce, for the 2nd A place, and Katie then winning the 3rd B points with 60.

The relay squad of Amy Pearson, Katie, Maisie,and Emma Scott finished in 3rd place, 1.56.9s.

James Crosby, Ashley Pye, and Jamie Cunniffe were the three under 13 boys taking on the opposition in their part of the match, Ashley and Jamie starting well with two second places in the 2 lap races. Jamie's 25.4s took the A points, and Ashley's 26.9s the B.

Things got better for them in the 6 lap races, Jamie taking the 1st A place, 1.36.0s, and James was the winner of the 1st B points, 1.41.7s

Ashley's long jump of 1.80m won the 3rd A points, and James took the 2nd A with 46cm in the vertical jump.

Jamie had a best throw of 6.61m in the shot put, taking the 4th A place, and Ashley, 78, and James,67 wound up the scoring with 2nd A and B in the speed bounce.

Amelia Connor won the 3rd A points in the 2 lap to start the scoring for the under 15 girls,26.9s, and Nicole Bell was one place better in the B race, 2nd, 27.0s.Ciara Hughes ran 30.7s,and Jade Carr 31.3s, non scoring.

Aoife Haymer took the 3rd spot in the A 6 lap race, 1.35.2s, she was the winner of the 1st A points in the triple jump, 6.58m, Nicole also completed a great overall result in the event also winning the 1st B points, 6.26m.

Amelia then took the 1st a spot in the long jump with 2.03m, Jade's 1.67m taking the 4th B points.Ciara also had a best of 1.67m, and Brogan Ashley jumped 1.46m both non scoring efforts.

Ciara won the 4th A points in the shot put, 5.70m, Amelia's 5.16m taking the 3rd B.

It was a double 1st for the girls in the speed bounce, Aoife' effort of 90 won the A points, this is not far off the national record, and Nicole won the B with 76.

Ciara, Aoife, Jade,and Nicole were the winners of the relay in 1..44.0s

Because of school comittments Mike Fryer and Nathan Dawson were the two under 15 boys available to compete for the Harriers, but they began their efforts with a certain determination, scoring very well in the events that they were able to tackle.

Nathan began with a 1st in the 2 lap 24.7s taking the A points, and Mike not to be outdone won the 1st B, 26.0s. Mike then followed up with the 1st B in the 6 lap, 1.30.0s, Nathan having won the 3rd A ,1.29.8s. Nathan took the 2nd A in the long jump, 2.42m, and Mike won the triple jump with a splendid jump of 7.00m, he also took the 2nd A points in the shot put, 7.35m, and Nathan finished off the day with a 72 in the speed bounce also for 2nd A points.
