Some of the members of the Harriers were part of the Cheshire teams taking part in the United Kingdom Sportshall Finals held at the NEC, Birmingham last Saturday, each picking up scoring points resulting in respectable overall finishing positions.
The County teams which reached the finals were the under 13 girls, the under 13 boys and the under 15 girls.
In the under 13 girls competition, Amy Wright who had picked up an injury during an earlier event scored in the speed bounce with a 69.
Rachel Blount had a best jump of 2.04mtrs in the long jump.
The points winners in the under 13 boys competition were headed by Ashley Pye scoring with 6.14mtrs in the triple jump. Mark Deeprose had a best of 6.76mtrs in the shot put, Robert McGeachie scored with a 70 in the speed bounce and James Crosby had a best of 51cms in the vertical jump.
Nicole Bell, Aoife Haymer and Amelia Connor were the Harriers County representatives in the under 15 girls competition, sadly this will be their last year at this age group and must bow out of the sportshall competitions, but they can reflect on some great results in the past.
The under 15 competition is an all rounder, multi-event competition and individual scores add up to an overall performance.
Amelia had a 6.71mtrs in the shot put,and 2.27mtrs in the long jump, finishing 47th overall.
Nicole's efforts were 71 in the speed bounce and 2.03mtrs in the long jump 82nd place overall.
Aoife had a best of 2.03 mtrs in the long jump, but won a great bronze medal in the speed bounce with 85. her overall position was the best individual in the Cheshire squad taking the 14th place in the allrounder competition.

Under 13 girls 4th place
Under 13 boys 10th place
Under 15 girls 9th place
The next competions for the Harriers is the inaugural Cheshire Spring Road Relays at Marbury Country Park near Northwich on Saturday 19th April, this competition is for selected team members under 13's and under 15's. then the first round of the Cheshire Track and Field League is at the Cumberland Stadium, Crewe on Sunday April 20th, this match is for all age groups
