Fresh from her winning ways in the Cheshire Spring Road Relays, Jess Wright got the Harriers scoring started with a splendid win in the 75m sprint in the first round Cheshire Track and Field League match staged at the Cumberland Arena, Crewe.  Her winning time of 12.0s was almost matched by Annabel Kitchen's B race first place, her time returned at 12.4s.
Jess also took the winning points in the 600m winning in style with a personal best of 1m.58.8s and rounded off her day with a first place in the long jump with a best of 3.63m.
Annabel won the second B points in the 600m with a time of 2m.15.4s.
Amy Pearson, Martha Cottrell, Tori Acton and Emma Scott took the bulk of the points in the 100m sprints in the under 13 girls competition, Amy took the 2nd A in same time as the winner 14.8s, a grade 4 performance, Martha's 14.7s won the 2nd B place, grade 4, Tori also had a grade 4 time of 15.0s taking the 1st C points and Emma completed the scoring in the event with a 2nd C time of 15.1s. New member Katie Banner ran a  non scoring time of 17.6s, as did Jess Parsons.
Jess was the A runner in the 800m taking the 2nd place points in 2m.52.9s, the other scorers in the event each had 2nd places, Emma's B time was 2m. 56.5s, Kate Merrill ran 3m.11.7s for the C points and Katy Morgan had a D points time of 3m.15.6s.
Amy had a grade 3  long jump of 3.99m taking the 2nd A points, Emma had a best of 3.35m for the B place. Martha was a non scorer with 3.10m.
Katy Morgan won the A points with a throw of 9.08m in the discus, and Kate took the 4th B with 6.19m. Jess had a non scoring throw of 9.85m and Katie Banner had a good first time effort with a throw of 8.73m.also non scoring.
Amy, Martha, Emma and Tori narrowly missed out on a win in the 4 x 100m relay carrying the baton home into second place in 67.2s
The under 15 girls scoring was all done by a great solo performance by Amy Wright. Starting with a 4th place in the 100m, 15.4s she was consistant in her points tally with two more 4th places, throwing a best of 5.67m in the shot put, she then had a best of 1.20m in the high jump.
Ben Sutcliffe and Jack Peacock were the two under 11 boys taking on the rest of the competition, Ben winning the 75m A sprint in 11.3s and in the long jump his 3.00m took the 4th A points.
Jack had a string of 3rd places in his events, 12.5s was his time in the 75m, in the 600m he crossed the line  in a time of 2m.09.2s and 11.87m in the javelin completed his trio of thirds.
Mike Fryer, David Tomalin and Nathan Dawson were the under 17 men competing for the points, In the 200m sprints Nathan won the 3rd A in 26.4s, the B winner in 31.3s was David.
David was the 4th A winner in the 800m, 2m.25.8s, Nathan was the 4th B placed winner in 2m.34.0s and Mike took the 3rd C points in 2m.39.0s  
Mike was placed in 2nd A spot in the triple jump with 10.03m, David's 9.72m good for the 1st B points.
Mike took the A points in the shot put with a best of 7.07m and Nathan taking the B with 6.38m completed team scoring.
The next club competition is the first round match in the UK Young Athletes League to be held at Bangor, North Wales.This is for athletes under 13, under 15 and under 17 age groups, male and female.
