The Harriers travelled to the Macclesfield athletics stadium for their third round match in the Cheshire Track and Field League where members put in some creditable performances, headed by the under 11 girls contingent of Jess Wright, Jenny Pyatt and Georgia Massey.
In the 75mtrs sprint, Jess had a runaway A win in 11.6s, Jenny took the 3rd B place in 12.4s and Georgia also had a 3rd place in 12.6s for the C points.In the 600mtrs, Jess was again on top form taking another winning A points win in 1m.57.2s, Jenny's 2m.11.2s was good for the 3rd B and Georgia had a splendid run in the C race, taking the 2nd place points.
Jess completed her scoring with the winning leap in the long jump of 3.72mtrs giving her a hat trick of winning A performances. Georgia also had a good result in the long jump, taking the 2nd B points with a best of 3.09mtrs. Jenny completed the scoring with a 2nd A in the javelin, throwing 14.02mtrs.
There were some good results in the under 13 girls competion, starting with the 100mtrs, Martha Cottrell ran across the line for a 2nd A points time of 14.6s, Tori Acton took the 2nd B place with a time of 15.1s, Emma Scott ran a time of 14.7s for a great 1st C place, Emma Pyatt completed the scoring with a 3rd D time of 16.9s. Laura Clare had a non scoring time of 17.3s and Katy Morgan also ran a non scoring race in 17.9s.
The 600mtrs runners were Emma Scott, Emma Pyatt and Katy, Scott taking the 3rd A points in 2m.49.9s, Pyatt running into a wiining 1st B spot in 2m.40.2s, Katy taking the C points in 3m.02.5s.
In the long jump, Scott put in a leap of 3.79mtrs taking the 3rd A points, Pyatt jumping 3.50mtrs for the B points.
Tori won the A points in the javelin, throwing a best of 12.98mtrs, Laura's throw of 9.17mtrs took the B points.
Ellie Hayes was close behind with non scoring throw of 8.69mtrs, having had a non scoring effort of 2.67mtrs in the long jump.
Becca Pill, Amy Wright, Becca Cartwright and Suzanne Baker made up the under 15 girls squad, Pill taking the 4th A points in the 100mtrs, 14.1s, Amy won the 4th B in 15.4s, Cartwright was in the 3rd C spot in 16.1s and Suzanne 5th D with 17.7s
Amy won the 2nd A with a clearance of 1.32mtrs in the high jump, Pill taking the B poits with 1.20mtrs.
Amy had a splendid effort of 6.42mtrs rewarded with the 3rd A place in the shot, Cartwright matching with a 3rd B place with 5.72mtrs. Suzanne had a good non scoring throw of 5.03mtrs.
Jack Peacock and Steven Baker tackled the under 11 boys events, in the 75mtrs sprint, Jack had a 5th A place in 12.5s, Steven's 12.4s took the 5th B points.Jack had a good result in the 600mtrs, winning the 2nd A points in 1m.53.4s, Steven was the B winner in 2m.13.3s.In the long jump, Steven won the 4th B points with a best jump of 3.13mtrs, Jack picking up the 4th B place with a 3.00mtrs result.
Thomas Jones led off the scoring for the under 13 boys, running a 200mtrs time of 31.0s in the 200mtrs for the 4th A points, Charlie Fletcher had time of 31.8s taking the 4th B and Jorge Peacock took the 2nd C in 31.6s.
The boys times in the 800mtrs A, B and C races were all very close Thomas had 2m.54.7 time, James Baker, 2m.57.9s and Charlie 2m.59.6s.
Charlie's 1.15mtrs clearance in the high jump won the 3rd A points and Thomas had a best of 1.05mtrs taking the 2nd B points.
Jorge threw 3.72mtrs in the shot.
The 200mtrs was the first event for the under 17 men, Colin Hornby ran the A race taking the 4th place points in 25.4s, Jack Campbell was the 6th B winner, 26.2s, Mike Fryer took the 1st C points in 26.3s and David Tomalin 4th D, 27.4s.
Jack and Ryan Jackson were the 800mtrs competitors, Jack running home in 2m.24.7s for 4th A, Ryan's 2m.27.2s good for the 3rd B place.
In the high jump, Mike had a clearance just of 1.50mtrs, below his personal best.
In a new event for Ryan, he had creditable best throw of 28.72mtrs, which won the 2nd A points. |
