7. Training

The problem of athletes who regularly train with us but never turn out for the club at League meetings was addressed yet again.

It was agreed that when the club programme is finally issued, it will be given to parents and made clear that if an athlete does not represent the club at a League meeting at all during the year, their membership will not be renewed the following year.

Some training had to be curtailed because of the recent bad weather.

The club cross country handicap was great success before Christmas.

8. Any Other Business

George gave an update on the Spanish visitors who are coming in February.

There will be 8 girls, 2 teachers and a couple of guests. They will be accommodated at Forest Hills. The law made it too difficult to accommodate them with families.

On February 17th they will be taken to Birmingham along with some of our athletes in a coach to depart Halton stadium at 8.30am and Frodsham at 9.00am. The charge will be £12 per head.10 teams will take part in the Birmingham competition. Margaret Webster is to get quotes for a 70 seater coach to go to Birmingham. On the last night there will be a reception at Frodsham to which some Halton and Frodsham dignitaries will be invited.
