Another good day for Halton & Frodsham with the second round of the YAL held at their home ground. Good performances saw the athletes achieve AAA grades and pb's.

Girls results

Under 13 girls got the club off to a fantastic start with Charlotte Davies and Emily Ross taking to the 70m hurdles. Both girls won their races in fast times. Charlotte clocking 13.3 and Emily 13.8 both rewarded with a Grade 4. Charlotte`s performance in the race saw her being awarded with the Girl of the Match, well done.

Under 15 girls Amy Pearson and Martha Cottrell also put in fast times for their 75m hurdle race. Amy saw her determination pay off getting a grade 4 with a time of 13.4.

Middle distance runners again put in a good performance, first our 800m U13's girls, Jess Wright, Jenny Pyatt and Emma Scott for the U15's ran time of 2.33, 3.02 and 2.45 respectively. Jess winning convincingly and Jenny running home in 7th place. Georgia Aston Massey was joined by Charlotte Davies for the U13's 1200m. Georgia set the pace bringing home maximum points in a time of 4.04 and Charlotte came home 3rd in a time of 4.17.

U13 and U15 girls set some fast times in the 75m, 100m, 150m and 200m runs.

Michaela Campbell 75m - 11.0 Grade 4 and 150m 22.4 Grade 4
Amy Pearson 100m - 14.2
Emily Pearson 100m - 13.9
Emma Scott 200m - 29.4

Field events saw some pb's being set and grades being achieved.

High jump

U13's - Jess Wright 1.37m and Emily Ross - 1.10m

U15's Martha Cottrell - 1.25m and Emily Pearson - 1.20m

Long jump

U13's - Annabel Kitchen 4.04m, Michaela Campbell 3.72m - U15's Amy Pearson 4.42m and Martha Cottrell 4.38m


U15's girl Ellie Hayes -winning with a throw of 13.15m and setting a new pb


U13's - Jess Wright 6.93m and Jenny Pyatt 5.71m

U15's Ellie Hayes 6.82m


U15's Ellie Hayes 16.03m and Emma Scott 14.13m

The only U17 girl Amy Wright took part in three field events, winning Discus in 23.32m, Shot 2nd with 6.47m and Triple Jump 9.03m.

The day was rounded off with the relays - U13's finishing in 2nd and U15's in 3rd.

Ben was named the H&F male athlete of the day after his 3 Grade 3 perfomances.

A great result for all five athletes that turned out, well done.

Long Jump- 5th 4.92m
Discus- 2nd 23.10m
Shot- 2nd 11.92m G3

Well done to David who performed spectucularly in all 3 events sealing it off with a fine Grade 3 and PB in the shot.
