Seven club members took part in Saturday's County XC Championships at Reaseheath College on Saturday.

Whilst the weather wasn't too unkind on the day, and the organisers had made great efforts to have courses which were in good condition, there were plenty of tough mud sections for all to contend with.

First up was the U11s with the boys and the girls racing together. Millie represented the club in the U11 girlsm with Ewan, Jack and Joseph making up a full team for the boys event.

Ewan narrowly missed out on a medal with a really strong run over the 2.5km course, placing 4th in his first County Championship race crossing the line in 9m13s, just 11s behind the race winner. Jack and Joseph also ran well placing 26th (10m28) and 39th (11m46) and the team finished 8th overall.

Millie also ran very well, placing 33rd in the girls event in a time of 11m47.

With no club runners in the U13s, Isla was the next Harrier to take to the mud, competing in the U15 girls race where she placed 22nd in 16m32.

Chris was the sole club entrant in the U17 mens race, and finished a good 5th place and secured a place in the Cheshire squad for the intercounties cross country meeting in Birmingham in March.

And the final Harrier to rise to the challenge was Richard McGeachie in the U20 mens race. Richard placed 4th in his race, covering the longer course in 23m11s and will also now take a spot in the County team for the Birmingham match.

Everyone put in really good efforts at the weekend and should be proud of their finishing positions!!
