Every week there are lots of young athletes who come for training in the evening sessions, but they often then don't turn that valuable training into competing for the club. Why not? Track & field meetings are a great experience for young athletes, especially in the Cheshire League where the atmosphere is always friendly, welcoming and relaxed - of course, it's competitive too, and athletes will be there trying to achieve their personal bests so that they can be recorded on the Powerof10 website alongside the entries for Jess Ennis, Mo Farah, Goldie Sayers, Philips Idowu and the other elite British athletes. We've put a poll on the website today (have a look on the right!) to get some feedback so you can let us know what stops you from turning out at meetings; we're very proud of the fact that the club is a friendly and welcoming place to train, but competing for the club is what it is all about - why not give it a try by joining your teammates on Saturday 9th June at the Trafford Athletics Club at their Longford Park track where we'll be taking on Trafford AC, Stockport Harriers, Vale Royal AC, East Cheshire Harriers, Crewe & Nantwich AC and Blackley & North Manchester AC. Please let your team manager know whether you'll be turning out to proudly wear your black & orange vests on 9th June! (Click on the Club Contacts section to find mobile numbers for Gary, Paul, Jane & Clare, or click on their names to e-mail a message to them)
