Cheshire Track and Field Round 2 - Stanney

The Cheshire Track & Field second round match at the Stanney Oaks stadium, Ellesmere Port was the latest competition for the Harriers. Enjoying a warm sunny day for a welcome change the under 11 girls put in some great results to kick start the scoring.

Jenny Pyatt, Annabel Kitchen, Megan McElverly Georgia Massey and Jess Wright were the five doing the business for the team.

In the 75m sprints, Jess scored with a 2nd place in the A race,11.6s, Megan was also placed second in the B race, 12.1s, Annabel, 11.9s and Jenny,12.6s taking the 3rd C & D points.Georgia was placed 6th in a non scoring race, 13.5s

In the 600m races it was a clean sweep of 1st places in the four scoring races, Jess, 1m.56.5s, Annabel, 2m.06.4s, Megan, 2m.06.5s and Jenny, 2m.12.9s. Georgia ran in a non scoring race timed at 2m.15.8s.

It was two second places in the long jump, Jess taking the A points with 3.89mtrs and Annabel's 3.20mtrs good for the B points and Georgia recorded a best jump of 2.62m as a non scorer.

Jenny threw a great 13.20mtrs in the javelin competition taking the 2nd A points and Megan's 8.75mtrs winning the 3rd B points.

Jenny, Annabel, Megan and Jess made up the 4x100m relay squad and came home in second place, 63.5s.

Emma Pyatt, Katy Morgan, Kate Merrill, Emma Scott, Tori Acton, Lauren Clare, Martha Cottrell and Amy Pearson were the members taking on the opposition in the under 13 girls part of the match, scoring well in all the events that they competed in.

Amy and Martha each starting with good performances in the 200m sprints Amy was 5th A in 31.1s and Martha's 30.8s taking the 2nd B points, Tori's 2nd C place was timed at. 31.9s.Non scoring times were Emma Pyatt, 33.1s, Katy, 35.4s, Kate, 35.3s and Lauren 41.3s

Emma Scott took the 4th place points in the 800m A race running a steady paced 2m.46.4s, Kate's 2m.59.9s taking the 3rd B place and the improving Katy timed at 2m.59.2s winning the 2nd C points.

In the high jump Emma Pyatt had a grade 4 award for her best clearance of 1.20mtrs this taking the 3rd A points, Amy jumping for the B points had a best of 1.15mtrs.
Shot putters Katy, 4.73m, 5th A and Tori 3.75m, 4th B won the points with their best efforts.

Tori, Amy, Martha and Emma Scott took the baton round in the 4x100m relay, crossing the line in 3rd place, 60.7s. Kate, Katy, Lauren and Emma Pyatt ran as a non scoring race finishing 3rd, 67.0s.

Amy Wright was the lone under 15 girl in the match winning points for a 5th place in the 200m and taking the 4th A points in the long jump with a leap of 3.93m

Under 11 boys Ben Sutcliffe, Jack Peacock and Johnathon Jones were the three competitors winning the points Ben running into 3rd place in the 75mtrs A race, 11.4s and winning the 2nd A points in the long jump with 3.50m, Jack winning the 4th B with a jump of 2.80m. In the 600mtrs Jack took the 3rd A points with a time of 1m.57.4s, Johnathon's 2m.42.2s winning the 6th B place and adding his scoring efforts with a 5th A in the javelin, 8.22m.

Thomas Jones, Matthew Hulse, Ryan Morgan and George Peacock were the four under 13 boys there for the club each scoring well and holding their own up against some stiff competition.

Thomas, was first on in the 100mtrs taking the 4th A spot with 15.2s. Ryan running for the first time put in a great performance winning the 1st B points with a time of 14.2s, George took the 5th C place with 18.7s.

Matthew Hulse again put in a splendid well paced effort in the 1500mtrs race winning the 1st A points with a time of 5m.02.6 , which was judged to be the best middle distance performance of the match. In the long jump he registered a grade 4 best of 3.86m which won the 3rd A points and Thomas also had a 3rd place in the B jumps with 3.38m.

George won the 5th A points in the discus with a best of 11.89m.

The team of four were 3rd in the 4x100m relay, 62.3s.

James Crosby won the only points in the under 15 boys part of the match with a 5th placed time of 14.1s.

The under 17 mens squad was made up by Colin Hornby, Mike Fryer, David Tomalin, Ryan Jackson and Mark Coman, Colin, Mike and David putting the early scores on the board with three thirds in the 100mtrs, Colin was 3rd A, 11.9s, Mike 3rd B 13.1s and David 3rd C, 13.6s.

Ryan ran a steady 1500m taking the 4th A place with 5m.00.9s, and taking the 5th A points in the shot put with 7.58m, Mike's 6.58m scoring for the 3rd B points.

Mark Coman's day was cut short when suffered an injury in the long jump competition having to withdraw, but had already registered a valid jump of 4.97m which did take the 4th A points, David's 6.86m good for the 3rd B spot.

Colin, Mike, David and Ryan ran the 4x100m relay taking the 3rd place in 51.8s.
